Copper and Vase

I wanted to stay loose on this painting.  I set it up last night and did some sketches of it and liked what I saw.  It's a simple arrangement but there's something aesthetically pleasing in simplicity.

Copper Study

This is my early Easter morning study.  I woke up around 7:30am and decided it was time to do a painting. (I haven't painted much in 2 months)The rest of the family was still sleeping so I made coffee and opened my studio.  It took a little while to decide on a subject.  I was looking for something that would give off a nice highlight and not be too complicated.  When I finished, I evaluated it for the next hour or so and made little adjustments.

Peonies Study

Garlic, Onion, and Tomato Studies

This is some of my older work. I really liked these when I did them.  Now my style has changed a bit but I enjoy seeing them.

Roses in Repose

This is a gallery piece that I challenged myself to paint in 4 hours and I did it.

Tomatillos, Tomatoes, and Silver

Painted at the end of 2015, this was a great way to end the year.  I got the peony and vegetables from Central Market in San Antonio.
